Everyone knows that a jacket made of leather is something that is both eye catching and also much more than just a piece of clothing to the person who owns it. Womens leather motorcycle jackets are worn by all kinds of women, not just those who ride motorcycles!
Getting the fit right on one of these jackets sometimes seems harder than it should be. But if you think about it, there are good reasons why finding the right fit is so challenging. Women come in all shapes and sizes, and even if two women both fit into the "average" category, they might be very different in terms of body make up. They might be so different that they could not possibly wear the same jacket! Now think about the sheer number of women who might want a leather motorcycle jacket, and you can see that proper fitting could be a real issue.
One way to deal with jackets that don't really fit quite right is with the use of belts. If you find a jacket with a belt, try it on and check out the look both with and without the belt. You will find that an otherwise over sized jacket can be made to look and feel quite right when the belt is used. It will add shape to your waist area while accenting the chest area and will also tend to make movement of the upper body a bit less clumsy.
If you don't like the idea of a belt, try a motorcycle jacket with an elastic section in the waist area. This will keep the waist area tighter and will accomplish some of the same things the belt does. The jacket will also be more likely to stay in place during movement and not ride up the torso if you are actually on the back of a bike! You can also find jackets with velcro built in and this can really be helpful, especially when combined with a belt or elastic.
There is one other way that you can control the sizing on your womens leather motorcycle jacket is to find one with side lacing. this type of lacing not only helps with function, but is very fashionable and adds to the look of the jacket.
The issue of sleeve size can be handled in a number of different ways from snaps or buttons to elastic in the wrist band of the jacket.
The main point is that you may not find the leather jacket that appears to be a perfect fit, but with the right built in accessories your jacket can accomplish exactly what it is meant to. You will feel warm and comfortable and look stylish whether you are walking down the street or riding on the back of a hog!
